When angst assails

When in doubt and disarray,

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

– Philippians 4:6

For since the beginning of the world,

“Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear,

“Nor has the eye seen any God besides You,

“Who acts for the one who waits for Him.”

– Isaiah 64:4

Because Christians have a PROMISE:

“But those who wait on the Lord

“Shall renew their strength;

“They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

“They shall run and not be weary,

“They shall walk and not faint.

– Isaiah  40:31

And the Lord keeps His promises:

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”

– 1 Thessalonians 5:24

You have only to TRUST Him:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths.”

– Proverbs 3:5-6

And finally, the icing-on-the-cake, the pièce de résistance, the “coup de grace” upon any doubts and worries that might beset us:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

– Romans 8:28Peace1
