Wesley’s Waymakers

Welcome to Wesley’s Waymakers ministry. By the grace of God, we are grateful to offer you an opportunity to serve Kent County, DE. The focus of the mission is home repair ministry. This is a partnership between Wesley UMC and Milford Housing Development Corp (MHDC). Wesley hosts the teams in our Student Ministries Center (SMC). Milford Housing provides work sites for the teams to bless families in need in our area.

If you would like to spend a week in our fair capital city, Dover, we invite you to come and be a part of what God is doing. While you are here, you will enable families in need to get the home repairs they need to stay safe and dry. You will have the SMC to yourself, including a living room, a kitchenette, access to full church kitchen, washer and dryer, bedrooms (bring air mattresses or use cots), and showers.

Teams typically arrive Sunday evenings, and stay until Friday or Saturday.

Features of this region:

• The nearest beaches are Cape Henlopen State Park (44 miles south) and Rehoboth Beach (52 miles south). Rehoboth Beach also includes outlet shopping.

• Killens Pond State Park (12 miles south) for people with campers and for day visitors. Killens Pond has a water park, hiking, and kyaking.

• Fifers Orchard

• Dover Mall (3 miles) includes a movie theater, shopping, and restaurants.

• Lums Pond (40 miles north) which includes an adventure ropes course, boating, fishing, and hiking.

• Christiana Mall (43 miles north)
