Volunteers in Mission Trips

On July 7-13, 2013 Chris Countryman will be leading “Week of Restoration” for youth to serve right here in Dover, DE. Youth will spend a week here at the church, serving the community.

July 14-20, 2013 we will be travelling to Endicott, NY to serve in response to the storms. Adults and youth over age 14 are invited to the first information meeting on March 17 at 5p.m. in parlor. Below is a description of the site from the hosts:

Here is the description of our site and the address is 1700 Monroe St. Endicott, NY
The Endicott NY – Volunteer Center is a stand-alone building that we have converted to volunteer hosting. There are currently 3 separate rooms with bunk beds – ( beds in each – 6, 6, and 8) .  There is also a separate room that can house an additional 4-6 persons with air mattresses or cots.   We have two shower rooms with two showers and a sink in each along with two separate bathrooms.  The is a “home-style” kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, etc. and utensils for up to 30.  We also have a BBQ grill outdoors.  There is a large dining/conference room to seat everyone.  The facility has a lounge area with WIFI and satellite TV with a large screen TV, they use some of the best internet services, similar to the ones at https://www.EATEL.com/residential/internet/.  We have a well-equipped tool trailer and tool room but are encouraging teams to bring some of their own as there is not yet enough for everyone or every job.   Primary tasks are wiring, insulation, sheetrock, and painting. Teams will prepare their own meals and are encouraged to recruit a cook for their team.   Grocery stores are nearby.

In the summer of 2012, Wesley Church sent 14 people to New Orleans. In partnership with Trinity Christian Community Center, we served in Vacation Bible School, painted the exterior of a home, and cleared several vacant overgrown lots.
