Make your check payable to Wesley UMC and notate in the memo line the following advance numbers: Bahamas – (Advance #982450),  United States – (Advance#901670).

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has already responded to the damage caused by Hurricane Dorian’s hit to the Bahamas. UMCOR has awarded a solidarity grant to Bahamas Methodist Habitat, the Disaster Ministry of the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church of the Caribbean. The grant provides emergency short-term funding for basic human needs of those affected by the catastrophic storm.

UMCOR reports on its website that it has been “monitoring the situation and are in close contact with Conference Disaster Response Coordinators in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. They are well-equipped and prepared to respond to the storms in their area. A solidarity grant has been awarded to the Florida Annual Conference to undergird initial response efforts.” The agency also asks for prayers for those affected by the hurricane.

One hundred percent of all contributions go to their designated projects. The United Methodist Church pays for UMCOR’s administrative costs.
